Electrical Blanket (2014)
This piece was enacted/performed at the Llano del Rio Collective Historical Site in conjunction with Craftswoman House's Centennial Event Squaring the Circle.

For this piece, I took old, excess and/or obselete electrical cords, computer and phone accessories to create a knot woven sculpture. Taken from my own electrical jumble as well as collected from others, these pieces from our daily technological lives past and present find new life as a participatory sculptural object as visitors for the event were invited to collaborate.

In stark technological contrast to its natural desert surroundings and the rich history of the Llano del Rio Site, this sculpture combines the age old low-tech and slower process of knotting and communal construction with the contemporary high tech and speedy artifacts of our current fast paced lives.
